•John is an eighteen-year-old boy and the second oldest of four boys. John’s mother suffered a stroke, and shortly after, his father passed away. His mother, who could no longer provide for her family, abandoned him and his brothers. John’s Aunt Susan and Uncle took them in, and they currently live in the Kawangware slums. Susan has found occasional work as a tailor, and his uncle was able to get various odd jobs to help provide basic needs.
•A month ago, shortly after John passed his National examination for the 8th grade, his uncle passed away. After the death of her husband, Susan has been struggling to provide for the family and is unable to meet basic needs or school fees.
•Despite his high scores on his examinations, these challenges have caused John to delay joining high school. In John’s free time, he loves playing soccer, farming, and repairing electronics.
James 4:6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
